Dating back to 1892, programs of Jewish Family Service have offered stability, provided security and created solutions for those with needs here at home – all in the tradition of helping people help themselves. JFS is an $8.5 million-a-year social service Agency with nearly 200 staff, a 32-member Board of Directors and 10 distinct programs. In 2009, JFS assisted over 11,250 people locally, positively impacting the lives of those served on behalf of a community that cares.

Today’s world presents human service challenges and opportunities that require flexible new roadmaps for all ages and stages of life. The Family Matters Campaign, to run through mid-2012, has three priorities which will enable JFS to:
- Reduce and prevent suffering of highest risk community members – today
- Ensure that JFS can always respond strategically to emerging needs of our rapidly changing society – tomorrow
- Provide dignified physical spaces to serve the full spectrum of emotional and social needs of a growing number of clients in a culturally relevant and dignified environment – always.
